Concept

Plot of Stress Vs. Strain from repeated loading and unloading.

The ultimate goal of the Plasticity Model is to replicate the curves on the Stress Vs. Strain plot of the plastic deformation range of a material using a spring block model. The plot from the spring block model will use Force Vs. Displacement outputs.

HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Sensor with circuitry

This will be acheived by using a Raspberry Pi to collect data from a HC-SR04 Ultrasonic Sensor. This sensor collects distance data and will be used to calculate force and displacement.

Capstone 2018 Product

Final product submission for the ME Capstone 2018 Plasticity Model Team

The top two pictures are of the platform that the block would be attached to and move on. The bottom two pictures show the wooden block used, which had a computer mouse enclosed in it for tracking displacement. Ultimately, the final product did not meet the client's requirements and was not operable.
