About the Project

It is our job to design and build a brayton cycle model that can be used in a classroom lecture, ideally a Thermodynamic II class. This can give students a hands on learning experience and help student visualize what happens in a Brayton cycle. Currently the best visualization for a Brayton cycle in particular are som 2D models in the text book as well as a T-s diagram. Simple images like these do not accuratly demonstrate how the cycle works. The team has decided to build a scaled turbojet engine so future students can see a real world application of the Brayton cycle.
