The purpose of this task is to design a water treatment system that is able to separate emulsified oil from a brackish oil-in-water emulsion. H2Oleum’s objective for this project is to provide a design solution that will create a high degree of separation between the two liquids and to recover as much oil as possible from the water

Team H2Oleum attended the International Environmental Design Competition hosted by the WERC Consortium and the Institute for Energy and the Environment at New Mexico State University. The 2015 competition will be the 25th annual competition. It took place on March 29, 2015 to April 1, 2015. Design tasks for the competition are based on real-world environmental challenges, focusing on technologies to tackle renewable energy innovation, sustainable building design, and water issues.
