The last name

By now, you may have noticed I have a peculiar last name. Before you guess, let me give the secret away: it's Greek. Though I was born in California, I spent a large part of my childhood in Greece and can speak the language fluently. If you have any questions about the country, or are just interested in learning what the cool places to visit are (or where to stay away from), I'd be glad to chat about the topic for a while.

Online leisure

A lot of my free time is summarily wasted on online activities; from message boards to online publications, I spend way too much of my time surfing the internet. A very brief list of sites which I visit regularly includes:

• Slashdot - An excellent place to keep abreast of developments in technology and online legal issues with a decidedly "geek" flavor.
• Fark - A user-submitted links site which will expose you to the strange and bizarre in the wonderful world of the Internet; thank Eric Dashofy for this one, as he originally pointed me to this site.
• Piled Higher and Deeper - Ever wonder what it's like to earn a doctorate? Interested in graduate school and wondering what life is like? Read this comic, and learn.
• PvP Online - One of my favorite (and very popular) webcomics.
