What is Formula SAE?

      Formula SAE is a student-run project that involves designing, building, testing, and racing a small open wheel race car. FSAE competition occurs yearly, and students compete against collegiate teams from around the country in a variety of static and dynamic competition events. NAU’s Formula SAE team is a first-year team and aims to enter competition in Spring 2024. Design has been progressing over the last year, and the team will enter the build phase in Fall 2023.
 
       FSAE is a once-in-a-lifetime, hands-on engineering experience that gives students like me an opportunity to apply their knowledge into practice. Our members learn engineering, fabrication, and organizational skills that directly apply to industry. Participating in this competition will enable our members to learn new skills, put them into practice and network with key automotive partners to propel them into their careers following graduation.
