Project Description
Team SOLAREADY must research and design a project that will improve current environmentally friendly solar power technologies in order to increase efficiency and decrease waste. Nationally the interest in green and solar technology has significantly risen and the industry is demanding more efficient and cost effective systems. Team SOLAREADY shall take on the task of designing a tracking system for a photovoltaic solar power system, which shall trace the sun’s movements in order to collect as much of the sun’s energy as possible.
The Contest (NMSU)
Team SOLAREADY is a group of Electrical Engineers from Northern Arizona University. Team SOLAREADY will be entering and competing in the New Mexico State University Power Point Solar Tracking Contest in April, 2014. The project requires a maximum energy efficiency system.

Photovoltaic (PV)
Photovoltaic solar panels is one of the most efficient ways to generate electrical power. The panels contaning solar cells convert the solar radiation from the sun into a direct current. This direct current will then be controlled by our systems to control the movement of the solar panel as well as store the maximum amount of energy possible.
