Arboretum History: The Arboretum at Flagstaff is a botanical garden, research station, and environmental education center whose goal is to help the public better understand the plants and plant communities of the world-renowned Colorado Plateau which is home to such natural wonders as Grand Canyon and Zion National Parks. The Arboretum is known for its beautiful collection of 2,500 species of plants, our guided tours, and spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, meadows, and forests.

Project Background: The Arboretum desires to have their current path system redesigned to meet all ADA specifications.  The Arboretum has had frequent issues with accessibility due to the large aging population that exists in Flagstaff, AZ.

The Arboretum can be a vivid spectacle.

 

 

 

This is the current path that needs redesigned.

H.I.T. Engineering: The Arboretum sought out the services of Beth Hamblin, Erik Ingraham, and Stuart Telford who comprise a diverse and well-rounded engineering company.  H.I.T. Engineering accepted the Arboretum Project and have nearly completed their engineering design and analysis.

H.I.T. Engineering has primarily utilized Trimble's Terramodel to complete their design work along with Haestad's Flowmaster, Microsoft Excel, and RSMeans Heavy Construction Cost Data.
