Journal of Paleolimnology - Special Issue - Late Holocene climate and environmental change from Arctic lakes
Our students and employees recently contributed to 8 of 14 articles published in the special issue. In addition to being lead authors on two articles, we conducted sediment analyses, developed sediment-depth age models, and advised authors on interpretting the sediment records.
Science magazine - Recent warming reverses long-term Arctic cooling
Darrell Kaufman was the lead author on a recent Science magazine publication. The study compares a 2000-year synthesis of Arctic climate change from lake sediments, ice cores, and tree rings to a model simulation run by the National Center for Atmospheric Research and suggests that 20th century warming has reversed a long-term cooling trend in the Arctic.
