Just to keep you all aware of IT happenings over the summer

Over this summer we have been extremely busy. We had to vacate our server room so that a new air conditioning unit could be installed. Moving out of the room and then back in afterwards took a lot of planning and management. Particularly to keep all our systems running. The pain was worth it as we now have a system which actually keeps the room at cool temperature.
We have unfortunately lost Christian McHugh to another institution and so my team is temporarily down to 3 full time members. We are working to replace the position as soon as possible.
Shawn Fowler has been working on revamping the College web site and this has mainly been accomplished. Some content remains to be added along with an ability to correctly format pages when users want to print. However hopefully this can be provided in the next few days or so.
We hope you like the style and layout. Along with the main College site, the Chemistry site and now been migrated to the new look and feel.
We have a new page which can found on the menu on the left "Working From Home" this gives information on how to connect to and work on your NAU office computer from off campus. This may be of use later this flu season, but I hope not. However it does provide an overview of getting a remote desktop connection to another computer.
