98C Engineering Fabrication Shop

The Engineering Fabrication Shop in the College of Engineering, Forestry, and Natural Sciences (Building 98C) is primarily a student shop. Our focus is on teaching students to run basic machine shop equipment in a safe environment. Once students complete safety training, they are allowed to utilize the shop.

February 8 2016: Capstones and shop use
Capstone projects are picking up! Below shows a histogram of the number of sign-ins in three time intervals for each day of the week. The average time spent in the shop per sign-in ranges from about 1 hour on Mondays to about 4 hours on Saturdays. Please keep this and our hours in mind if you are in a capstone that needs extra space, as you will need a shop manager to supervise.

Work orders may also be needed by capstones. Work order information can be found here. Please note that you must have your technical advisor sign off on any work order parts. Part drawings need to have all dimensions and tolerances shown so that we can make your part accurately. If you have a part that will need to be made using a CNC mill, please email the solidworks file as well.

If you have any questions or concerns, just ask! You can stop by the shop or email, and a shop manager will help.

February 1 2016: Work Orders!
We are able to take work orders. For more information, check out our work orders page. If you have questions about the work order process, or questions about manufacturing your project, please come see us. We're here to help!
