Endowed Gifts: Enduring Support

A gift of endowment to the College of Engineering, Forestry and Natural Sciences is a permanent investment in the college, its students and faculty. Only the income and related gains from most endowment funds can be spent; the principal cannot be touched. The income from an endowment created to support the College of Engineering, Forestry and Natural Sciences provides the college with an ongoing source of funding that grows over time; as the invested principal increases, so does the annual payout for the school's use.

A gift of endowment can transform the college and shape the course of science and engineering. The most accomplished faculty are recognized and honored with endowed professorships, and the most outstanding students are supported by endowed fellowships. The investment the college makes in a new faculty member from endowed start-up funds is returned many times over during the productive career that follows. Many generations of students and faculty benefit from a gift of endowment to the school.

We welcome inquiries about endowment gift opportunities. These lasting gifts may be named as the donor wishes, and may be pledged for up to five years. Donors of $250,000 or more are further recognized in the annual report as members of the Presidents Circle. Contributors receive an annual financial report on the endowment principal from the Northern Arizona University Foundation Office as well as regular reports on the use of the proceeds of their endowment funds from the Dean of the college.
