This degree is for students wanting a general purpose mathematics degree with a minor of their choosing. It prepares the student for careers in industry or teaching as well as for continuing on to graduate school. To earn this degree, you must complete the four components described below (see the program sheet for degree details).

This degree requires no minor and thus allows the student to take a more extensive selection of mathematics and statistics courses. The Extended option would be ideal for the student intent on pursuing a graduate degree or a career in one of the four emphasis areas.
To earn this degree, you must complete the four components described below (see the program sheet for degree details). You choose one of the four emphases for this degree - mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science. No minor is required.

The Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies degree is a flexible interdisciplinary bachelor’s degree offered by NAU consisting of three blocks of coursework: A block of courses in an emphasis area, a focus block which may be designed by a student in consultation with an advisor, and a communication skills block. The Mathematics/Statistics emphasis consists of 5 specified courses and three electives to total at least 26 hours.
