C. Susannah Tysor, UMEB Scholar

I am a senior at Northern Arizona University studying botany, chemistry, and mathematics. This is my third year in the Undergraduate Mentoring in Environmental Biology Program.

Research

My research as a UMEB scholar on the growth response of pinyon pine to climate variables, including carbon dioxide, will help us predict the future of a foundation tree species in the southwest.  Financial and mentor support have made it possible for me to present my research at several ESA meetings.

Interests

Plants have fascinated me since I was a child, but my interest has moved from gardening and basic horticulture to questions about plant physiology and the relationship plants have with each other and their environment.  I am especially interested in how climate change will alter plant growth and interactions.
