ITEP was established at Northern Arizona University in 1992, in cooperation with USEPA.
The On-Site Wastewater Demonstration Program provides a training, demonstration, and research facility to the people of Arizona to encourage the use of the best available technologies for the treatment and disposal of residential wastewater, thereby fostering improved surface and groundwater quality, as well as overall public and environmental health.
This project has limited research and development capability and is dedicated to the propegation of alternative wastewater options for those that are "off the grid".
